woods for waters

Over 40 volunteers planted 70 trees and shrubs alongside Robinson Run in North Fayette as part of an intermunicipal collaboration between the municipalities of North Fayette, Oakdale, McDonald, and Collier. An exemplary display of teamwork to improve water quality and engage residents!

MORE ABOUT RIPARIAN BUFFERS
A streamside buffer is the strip of land that runs alongside streams and rivers. Buffers play a critical role in protecting water quality, reducing stormwater impacts, aiding in flood control, stabilizing stream banks, filtering pollutants and providing habitat for wildlife.

MADE POSSIBLE BY
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy
The Chartiers Watershed Municipal Alliance
The Allegheny County Conservation District

Look for our next Woods for Waters planting event on October 19 and 20 in the Montour Run Watershed!
